Each of the lakes has a distinctive physical structure, a unique geochemical and hydrothermal regime, and a particular historical sequence of color changes controlled by changes in physico-chemical conditions :

Tiwu Ata Polo, the “enchanted lake”, lies on the southeastern side of the volcanic peak.

Tiwu Nua Muri Koohi Fah, the “lake of young men and maidens”, is adjacent to Tiwu Ata Polo and is the deepest lake.

Tiwu Ata Mbupu, the “lake of elders”, is the western-most lake. it’s structurally different from the other two in that the pit crater it is in is itself located in the center of a larger crater.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 Denpasar - Maumere - Moni (-/L/D)

• Morning flight to Maumere.
• On arrival transfer to a local restaurant for lunch.
• Then proceed to Moni with stops in Wolowaru village.
• Late afternoon arriving in Moni.

• Early morning driving up to Mt. Kelimutu to see its picturesque colored lakes and the sunrise.
• After breakfast driving back to Maumere with stops in :
  • Jopu traditional village,
  • Sikka weaving village,
  • And Wuring fishermen village.
• Late afternoon arriving in Maumere.
• Check in at Flores Sao Resort or similar.

Day 3 Maumere - Denpasar (B/-/-)

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight back to Bali.
